Chemistry Staff Updates

 

Cassandra Parker has taken on a new role in the Chemistry Department, the Payroll and Human Resources Associate.  Cassandra works with the faculty, scientists, students, and staff to get them set up with regards to payroll and HR details when they arrive in the Chemistry Department.  She manages the biweekly and the monthly payroll for the entire department of 26 faculty, 100+ graduate students, 35 scientists and postdocs, 30 staff, and dozens of undergraduate researchers and TAs.   Cassandra also shepherds students and staff through the visa application and update process, working with the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS).  Congratulations to Cassandra on her new role! 

Rick Schneider was recently hired to fill the position vacated by Cassandra Parker.  He has been working with Washington University for almost ten years, at University College.  Now, in the Chemistry Department, Rick will work as the Administrative Assistant for the General Chemistry lecture (Chem 111A and Chem 112A) and the Organic Chemistry lecture (Chem 261 and Chem 262).  He supports the faculty teaching these large courses, with over 1,100 enrolled students, by updating the course Blackboard pages, preparing exams and quizzes for administration, answering questions related to the administration of the courses, and coordinating all the moving pieces to ensure the courses run smoothly.   Please welcome Rick to the Chemistry Department!
