The purpose of TA office hours is to discuss the homework problems on homework sets for which the submission deadline has passed. Questions not related to the homework problem sets or to homework problem sets before the submission deadline should be directed to Prof. Mabbs and will not be answered by the TAs.

Course Grading Format: Homework - 150 pts
3 Midterm Exams - 150, 150, 150 pts
Final Exam - (Optional) 150 pts replaces lowest Midterm Grade
Lectures: The lectures will follow the text Quantum Chemistry reasonably closely with additional material and concepts drawn from other texts and literature. The material presented in lecture and homework sets will form the basis of the course and test material.
Reading assignments will be given periodically and are indicated on the syllabus under the lecture number. The purpose of these assignments is to help your understanding of the course material. It is in your interest to come to the lecture having read through the relevant material in the text book.
Homework Assignments: 8 homework problem sets will be assigned. Most of the homework sets will be assigned one week prior to the due date and returned to the students within one week from the due date. Homework assignments will not be accepted after the end of class on the due date. The solutions to the homework sets will usually be posted by Monday following the due date of the homework set. Your lowest homework score will be dropped. Whilst you are welcome, and indeed encouraged, to use text books and other source materials when preparing your homework direct copying from these source materials is plagiarism and will be deemed to be cheating. Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated and will be handed over to the judicial board for consideration.

First Midterm Exam: Monday, Sept 22nd, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in Rebstock 215.
Second Midterm Exam: Wednesday, Oct. 29th, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in Rebstock 215.
Third Midterm Exam: Thursday, Dec. 4th., from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in Rebstock 215.
Comprehensive Final Exam: Tuesday, Dec. 16th, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Lab Sciences 300.
Regrade requests may be made up to one week following the return of the exams. (Note that some exams are randomly chosen and copied prior to being returned.) No additional marks or alterations whatsoever can be made on any exam being considered for a regrade request (this will be considered as cheating).
