Inverted Beral pipets and Ice Baths

.) Gently squeeze the bulb so that the liquid in the bulb does not enter the stem. Holding the pipet bulb so that the stem points upward, bend the stem over and into the well with reactant.

.) Draw up the solution from the well into the bulb and straighten the stem, keeping the bulb inverted.

.) Submerge the bulb in an ice bath, holding the stem with your fingers.

.) Use the tongs to attach the stem to the side of the ice bath beaker.
