Silver Mirror: the Tollen's Reagent

1.) When adding the glucose to the Tollen's reagent, tilt the test tube and add the drop on the wall of the test tube, letting it gently run into the solution. After placing it in the hot water bath, be very careful not to touch it.

2.) If the test tube is disturbed, the silver will solidify on the bottom

3.) However if you do everything correctly, a smooth silver mirror will form along the sides of the test tube.
