The previous files use the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To read them, you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader (Acroread), which is freeware from Adobe Systems Incorporated.

To download the needed version of Acrobat, (PC Windows, Mac, etc.) onto your computer follow the directions as shown on the Acrobat Download Site.

*To install the PC Windows 98, 2000 or NT version, double click on the Acroread.Exe installer program and follow instructions.

*To install the MAC version,* double click on the Acroread.Mac installer program and follow instructions.

* NOTE TO MAC USERS: To download Adobe Acrobat Reader correctly from the internet, you need to have either "Stuffit" or "Binhex" on your Macintosh. These are free software programs and are available on the ACN (Academic Computing Network) Macintosh network. If you have any questions about this, please see R. Frey.

To set up Netscape to use Acrobat Reader:

  1. Go to Options/General Preferences/Helpers (or Helper Applications)
  2. Create New Type:
    1. Mime type: application
    2. Mime subtype: pdf
    3. File Extensions: pdf
    4. Action: launch application: Acroread (use Browse button to find Acroread on your machine)
