Facilities

The laboratory

We have a nice space on the second floor of the McMillen Laboratories building, with a dedicated server room, space for eight researchers or so, lots of whiteboards, and a conference area with projection system.

Pictures will be posted when we get around to it.

The computers

We use the following computers in our work:
  • A 16-node, four-socket quad-core Opteron cluster (256 cores total) with Infiniband networking.
  • A 22-node single-socket quad-core Intel cluster with gigabit ethernet networking. (This used to be a 24-node dual-Athon cluster, described in greater detail here.
  • Resources available through the TeraGrid, especially at the Texas Advanced Computing Center.
  • The Departmental Computational Chemistry Facility, which we also maintain.
