Abstract: We present results from experiments and simulations for the effects of confinement on liquid-liquid phase equilibria. Experimental phase diagrams for the nitrobenzene/\mbox{$n$-hexane} mixture in controlled pore glasses are obtained by nonlinear dielectric effect and light transmission measurements. We also use computer simulations of a Lennard-Jones mixture in several cylindrical pores to study the short-time dynamics of phase separation upon temperature quenching.
