About these pages

These pages are put together with the genpage macro package, which is great for keeping the table of contents synchronized, and updating the "last updated" times and such.

The pages are then uploaded to the departmental server using the sitecopy utility.

I've tried to keep the file sizes as small as possible, recognizing that long downloads are frustrating and often not necessary. As a result, most of the good molecular graphics are hidden deeper in the site, so that one doesn't have to wait for them to load.

Also, these pages should all be correctly viewable in older versions of web-browsers, and will display as intended at screen resolutions of 600x800 or better. I've tested back to Netscape version 2.02, which works fine. (On some computers, it may be necessary to reduce the total number of colors in order to correctly display the backgrounds.) This site even looks OK (not good, but I'm working on it!) under Lynx.
