The Maurer group is located on the fourth floor of the Department of Chemistry’s Laboratory Sciences Building on Washington University’s Danforth Campus.  We have dedicated laboratories for synthetic organic chemistry, molecular biology, microscopy, cell biology, electrophysiology, and a ISO 6 cleanroom for micro/nanofabrication.  Additionally, we share a cold room, a dark room, and equipment space with the Taylor and Blankenship groups.

The group maintains all standard equipment for organic synthesis, molecular biology, and cell biology.  Additionally, we have a LaserWriter lithography system with sub-micron resolution, a CEE 200cb Spin/Bake system, a PVD-75 electron beam evaporator, a HTG mask aligner, a protein purification system, a planar lipid bilayer electrophysiology system, and a fully automated fluorescent microscope for live cell imaging.
