Schaefer Group

Welcome to Schaefer Group, Solid-State NMR Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis. Our research involves in the development and application of the Solid-State NMR techniques to polymers and complex biological solids. Using rotational-echo double resonance (REDOR) NMR experiments; internuclear distances and the molecular orientation are determined by direct measurement of heteronuclear dipolar couplings. REDOR and other solid-state NMR methods have been successfully implemented over diverse applications covering broad range of research interests.
